I am shocked (shocked!) about the discrepancy between the urgency to make progress on climate action and the nature of the ongoing @UNFCCC #COP25 negotiations. Take adaptation as an example, countries aren't talking about how to raise ambition. 1/4

@UNFCCC Instead they are fighting about the "registry" for adaptation communications. Basically it's just a webpage. The issue is if and how it is linked to the webpage that lists countries' NDCs. Without a place to submit and access adaptation communications, none will be prepared. 2/4

@UNFCCC In another room, members of the Adaptation Committee won't adopt a report they themselves prepared (or at least were asked to comment on) because the countries for which they negotiate want to change how the Committee operates. 3/4

@UNFCCC We can have @IPCC_CH issue report after report, millions protesting in the streets every Friday, and @GretaThunberg sailing around the world for the rest of her live, the insincerity and manipulation on display in Madrid makes me very pessimistic indeed. 4/4 #HowDareYou
