Democrats insist on running for office and operating politically based on a set of rules they seem to believe "everybody" has signed into. This rules list doesn't exist and Republicans have no qualms about just doing *whatever* to win and advance their agenda.
In such a dynamic the Democrats can say "but we played fair" until they're blue in the face as Republicans just run roughshod over American life. Until the Democrats decide to fully go to war we are going to be fucked beyond imagination.
I would rather get a little (or a lot) dirty and get good things done for people than pat ourselves on the backs as Republicans rape and pillage everything.
