There are people who believe that Nigeria’s new visa policy will make Africans flood Nigeria without control.

Nothing is farther from the truth than this. It is also not a chance to bring in Fulani herders😏

The policy is a visa-on-arrival policy.
It just removes the need for Africans who want to visit Nigeria going to an embassy or high commission to apply for a visa. They now just need to apply for a visa online, stating their airport of entry. They then wait for 48hrs to get an approval.
Once they get approval, they can then get on a plane and head to Nigeria. When they arrive at the international airport they specified in their online application, they will report at the visa-on-arrival desk where they will be issued a visa before going on their merry way.
The visa they get on arrival is a visitors visa, not a work visa or an immigrant visa. With a visitor’s visa you are not allowed to work. Work or immigrant visas can not be got using visa-on-arrival. So no fear of anybody streaming in. Anybody still coming needs a visa.
Visa-on-arrival is a welcome policy, in fact it is long overdue. Opening up Nigeria to visitors is good for the tourism sector,the hospitality sector, and generally fosters good bonds with our African brothers and sisters. It is good for the economy.

The PDP has continued to show it is not a viable opposition. It has not been able to show the people it is a better alternative, it has failed woefully at discrediting the current president. The party is only good at tacitly supporting the release of a slew of fake news.
Many of their fake news and purveyors of it get found out very easily to be quacks, amateurs, and basic frauds. Another thing the party is good at is releasing juvenile press releases. Sometimes I wonder if the Publicity Sec is just some lonely guy somewhere who misses blogging.
If the PDP is serious about getting back in Aso Villa, it needs to shut down for about a year, gather what its left of its leadership and supporters, hold a retreat and tell themselves the gospel truth - “we are failing at this thing”

The National Correctional Service Act is one of the most progressive laws I have seen come out of Nigeria in recent times. I find the breaking of the service into "Custodial" and "Non Custodial Service" very heart warming.

Now not every offence will send an offender to jail.
Now a judge can punish an offender with community service, prisoners can now be released on parole.

I also like the humaneness of the Act. The inmate is still accorded his rights as a human and everything is done by the state to reintegrate him/her to society.

I have every reason to believe a gang of online scam artists built factsdontlieng.com, the website that the PDP petitioners sited as the basis of their belief in an INEC server. I shall try to explain in this thread.
Go to factsdontlieng.com and view the page source. You will see a slew of commented out information. Copy the one I have highlighted and google it.
It should bring you result with pages made up of mostly "charity organizations" asking for money for about the same cause. Open each of them. Some of gone offline, others still there.

By and large, I think most people *do* believe most women, like Christine Blasey Ford, who make sexual abuse accusations.

The real debate is whether or not we should care. Conservatives defend Kavanaugh because they thought some light sexual assault is a right for certain men.
The issue isn’t that conservatives sincerely believe victims are lying. They just think victims shouldn’t be speaking at all. They think women are obliged to keep men’s dirty secrets.

Here's a challenge: In #Nigeria, it's not enough to be good at what you do. You must be good and political; good and cultural; good and tolerant of deeply disturbing mediocre shit.
When the emotional pressure becomes to much, many good people simply give up and become bad.
You cannot survive and thrive in #Nigeria without a tribe that validates and upholds a set of shared values. Riding solo doesn't work. Too many forces will come against you.
