My #2019ReadingGoal was to read a book per week. Books have been most cherished and loved companions ever since I was the little girl who loved the library who grew up to be a writer. Here’s the thread about what I read this year 
Here are the titles and authors of the 52 books I read this year for my #2019ReadingGoal
Of the 52 books:
- 47 were by women (cis and trans)
- 3 were by men
- 2 were by non-binary or gender non-confirming people
- At least 19 were by queer authors and-or featured #LGBTQ characters
- 24 were in translation
- Authors were from at least 28 countries

When I was choosing books for my #2019ReadingGoal, I intentionally discounted books by white men and sought out books by women, especially women of colour and women in translation. Two of the three male authors were queer/their book featured a queer protagonist.
(That took a few tweaks!)
All the books I read for my #2019ReadingGoal were novels. I read so much non-fiction in my day to day and I wanted the luxury of new and different worlds.
There were a couple of graphic novels that I read as part of my #2019ReadingGoal and I hope to read more in the year ahead.
Of course I have favourites among the books I read and some books that were so-so but my main goal was to read beyond the best sellers/big names.
