Horrific #Bushfires 🔥 are burning in every Australian state. No wonder people are angry + despairing about lack of action on the #ClimateCrisis

Reporter covering North Carolina's #HB370 — which looks like it's coming up for a vote today — found a way not to mention the Fourth Amendment until the seventh paragraph of a story whose headline ignores the existence of significant constitutional questions. Not good!
NC Gov. @RoyCooperNC has said the bill is unconstitutional. How do you write a story about this fed'l power grab that would be forced on local sheriffs by state gov't (essentially an unfunded mandate, due to the likely lawsuits that would result) w/out highlighting that reality?

Because the character essential to setting up everything else. Think about the character as the middle of a web.

Every arch in the web comes from the middle and every connection comes from the middle.
If your story has shit characters, your story will likely be shit.

What is a shit character?
*Difficult to relate to
*Grossly exaggerated
*Too perfect/no flaws
*no/underdeveloped personality

And the list goes on.

Character is an essential element of story telling
