MSN Polling now stable at about 56% for conviction and 40% against conviction. Over last few weeks both Republican and Democratic support as inched up, but independents drive most of the change, now approaching 65%. Note that support of conviction is now equal to about 1-Approval
1-Approval includes people who both Disapprove & Don't take a firm position. Can see daily updating msn.com/en-us/news/pol…. Small variation in wording may affect levels of polls around conviction, but trust trends within same poll: support for conviction rose & is now stable.
Support for convicting President Trump & removing him from office is crazy high considering that we have not seen most key witnesses or documents yet. At same time, bad, but not absurd, approval should be strong indicator he will still be super competitive, if he is not convicted

When you follow polling daily, you learn people rarely make big jumps from Opposition to Support, but slowly move through don't know or third-party. This polling is a clear sign that Republican policy of complete obstruction is not selling well to voting public.

We treat false equivalency as a "naive" attempt at objectivity, but it is simply a pro-Republican Bias meant to help Republicans, knowing Democrats are too committed to journalistic integrity to push back on the mainstream media's pro-Republican bias.
"I’ll just be honest, when I had the third senator [to spread Russian disinformation], Senator Ted Cruz, come on my show and do this ... I did not expect to do this." @chucktodd, by his own admission, is either an idiot or pretending to be naive to help Republicans.
Reminds me of the old saying:

Fool me once: shame on you. Fool me twice: shame on me. For me thrice: I am either a fucking idiot or just pretending to be naive to make great money as a Republican stooge.

Qasem Soleimani's death is certain to escalate tensions between the US & Iran. Iran hardliners and neo-cons are celebrating, no doubt - they've been lusting for confrontation with Tehran and have just upped the ante. But you know who else is celebrating? Iraqis and Syrians.
Soleimani directed the murderous crackdown against Iraqi protesters and oversaw a genocide in Syria. He was the face of an expansionary sectarian project that pitted people against each other by fostering loyalists that would kill their own people, as Tehran carved up the region.
He was indispensable for his ability to keep Tehran's proxies united, and it has no operative to fill that role now. In Syria it might spell the end of Iran's goal to apply it's Iraqi blueprint of militias and loyalists, as it consolidates in Iraq & Lebanon in the midst of unrest

Trump correctly concluded that such a response lacked proportionality. That consideration is important.

Limiting our response to inflicting proportionate damage demonstrates both #wisdom and #justice.
