I’m watching the debate on delay, so will only post a few big thoughts.

First, this was not a discussion on foreign policy. This is a discussion of resumes. Talking about playing commander in chief is not a policy discussion. This is a big missed opportunity.
Worth carefully considering the question Bernie avoided answering — that he says now he should not have authorized the use of force in Afghanistan after 9/11. This just after saying everything should focus on negotiations.

There’s not much of a counterterrorism policy in that.
last year’s crisis now, so everyone has forgotten Syria.

The correct answer that everyone (but brief Biden mention) missed was — what we were doing with special forces in Syria with a very limited footprint was *the model* for how we do this crap in the region right.
This is arguably one of POTUS’s worst failures.
“Ending endless wars” is not a policy or a vision of American engagement in the world. O

Isolationism for any reason is not an option.
It’s hilarious that peeps so animated about the Iraq war keep talking about coalitions of the willing as magic cure-alls for moral leadership.

Also — “security crises aren’t a thing because climate crisis” — nope that isn’t how that works.
