This one is near and dear to my heart. Coach Robic is like my brother. He’s been with me since the start at UMass and his family is my family.

One of the greatest things about our fan base is it’s an army of people who rally around one another when someone needs help.
This is one of those times and I’m calling on all of #BBN to help if you can. I hope our fans can spread the word so we can find a donor. We would be forever grateful.

I haven’t talked about my #breastcancer journey much on the twitters but since it’s #breastcancerawareness month, let’s do this.

Warning: Don’t follow me on the basis of this thread w/o checking the profile. I’m liberal AF & I mainly tweet about racism & sexism.
I was 1st diagnosed w #breastcancer in Jul 2014. Went thru dbl mastectomy, chemo, & reconstruction. Was rediagnosed w a local recurrence in Oct 2018.
The 1st dx was hard but not unexpected. My mom was dx 20yrs earlier w a more advanced #breastcancer. For 20 yrs I’d tell drs that and they’d look at me like I had an expiration date stamped on my forehead.

I was 16, when I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF.) I had no idea what was happening to me because at the time, it made no sense. However, I remember the pain of that period like noonday. I lived on dialysis until i was 22. #dialysis #OrganDonation #renalhealth
It took over my teenage years. I don’t remember having much of a life as a teenager because dialysis was 3x a week & every session was 4hrs. Add the time it takes to recover from being exhausted by the process, my day was pretty much over. #dialysis #OrganDonation #renalhealth

I would like one freaking day without having to fight not only to stay alive, but to access the medical services that should be available to me for the $1,978.10 MONTHLY premium I pay to Blue Cross for my HMO as a person with #cancer

But instead it is an exhausting daily battle.
Trying to sign up for #disability because I am destitute from the cost of #healthcare for sick people in America is the most daunting & frustrating process. I have been working since I was 14, including a 4yr stint helping this country in the domestic Peace Corps and I'm angry.
Congress has failed 131M chronically ill Americans by refusing to give us a system where we all have the same access to care. I am trapped in my house because I can't get a wheelchair lift for my porch and a motorized wheelchair.
