For many people who want an opportunity to study&work, for the purpose of raising enough money to fund different expenses like housing,public transportation,food expenses & other study related expense,Canada lets you work per-time during your studies. You have up to 20hrs/week
The following are mostly the general requirements of international candidates;
A. A proof of identity(international passport)
B. Proof of Financial Capacity
C. Proof of Proficiency in English or French(some institutions wave this if you are from an English speaking country)
Some universities require special proficiency tests for different courses, for instance to apply for a PhD program in Physics in some universities, there are some proficiency test you have to take in Physics.

I was requested to take such test when i applied for Physics PhD.
There are Designated Learning Institutions in Canada that can admit foreign students, so must make sure you verify if the university you are applying to is designated. And also be sure you meet all the requirements of the course you are applying for.
There are about 250 Canadian institutions to choose from, considering the fact that the application fee ranges from $100 - $250, you might need to focus on one or two that you think would be best for you.

So don’t waste your time sending application to too many schools.
After submitting your application, you should wait patiently till you get a favourable response in form of an acceptance letter which would be the first requirement applying for a study permit.

The school might also request for other information while reviewing your application.
To apply for a study permit you need an acceptance letter from the university of your choice. Applying for a Canadian Student Visa can be done online, you would pay around 150CAD and probably be required to submit your biometric which can cost about 83CAD.
Meanwhile based on others experience, it is very expensive to school in Canada, so it is advisable to finish your undergraduate program first in Nigeria & apply for Masters/PhD in a Canadian institution.

If you must do an ungrad in Canada, you might consider a college.
I have shared more tips and requirements via my first blog post of the week. You can read in the link.

Please take your time to read.
