I don’t think it’s been realized what a change the concept of Indo Pacific is for the United States

How so, you ask. Well if the framework is an American world, then each region relates directly to the center. But if the framework is balance of power then the relevant region must be expanded to include different centers balancing each other
Not the distinctiveness of the different regions but a geography internally balanced
Hence the transition from Asia Pacific - where China would be dominant - to Indo Pacific, where it is expected that Japan, India and Australia, with help from the United States, can create a balance
But in practice the Indo Pacific is already Eurasia: the balance must include Europe
