Can you imagine how nervous all of the GOP senators and Trump handlers are these days that he's gonna open his big mouth (or send a tweet) and unknowingly incriminate himself?
Ok, as many have pointed out, he's done this already. Which is true...but I mean even *more* so and more specifically. Like, "why should Pence go to the inauguration when they were dragging their feet on the Hunter Biden thing?"
I guess what I had in mind is this. I think Trump truly thinks he has done nothing wrong, or is incapable of distinguishing between what he did that may have been right or wrong. So he might just blurt something out like "why should they get the aid if they won't get Hunter?"
Or what if he says "Lavrov assured me that Ukraine has the server and dammit, if Zelensky doesn't turn it over they're gonna get no more aid from me, regardless of what the Congress says."
Or what if he says "you're damn right I withheld aid until they investigated the Bidens, & I'd do it again. Mick made me release it when that phony whistleblower thing came out, but when this is over we're gonna find that guy & put him in jail with Yovanovich and the rest of em."
I mean really, it's hard to believe Trump hasn't thought that. So what would stop Dr. Id from just coming right out and saying it if some journalist got in his face and made him mad?
And I'll acknowledge, even a statement like that probably wouldn't be sufficient to shift more than a couple GOP votes. But at least they'd have to own the full extent of their sycophancy next time they stood for election.
