*Dhieu Mathok Diing Wol*

Dhieu Mathok Diing Wol is a Dinka tribesman from Malual of Aweil, in the Greater Bahr-el-Ghazal region of #SouthSudan.
He comes from a prominent family among the Malual Dinka clan of Aweil.

During the civil war of #Sudan from 1983 to 2005, Mathok was in Sudan studying. He was a student activist of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement.

...killing of Dr. John Garang De Mabior. His uncle was the Late, Lual Diing Wuol.
Lual Diing was a veteran Sudan People’s Liberation Movement member; and he was an advisor to the current President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir, until his death in 2016.

It was via Lual Diing, that Dhieu Mathok was given the opportunity to gain access to the high executive positions of government in Southern Sudan.

Dhieu Mathok spent most of his life in Khartoum. He knows more about North Sudan than he knows about South Sudan.

Because of this this background; Salva Kiir now uses Mathok in his current government, after his defection from Dr. Riek Machar Teny in 2016. Mathok easily strikes a rapport with the Northern Sudanese people; and this is why Salva Kiir is now using him in a prominent role...

...within the North Sudan peace talk negotiations that he desperately wants to keep held - and retained in Juba under his auspices - between the new Northern Sudanese government and the armed opposition groups.

Kiir’s father was a blacksmith who moved around the region of Greater Bahr-el-Ghazal.
