1/ When we asked in 2018, Ivanka Trump’s lawyer’s spox told us she’d only been contacted ONCE about her family’s hotel over-charging the nonprofit inaugural committee.

We’ve got receipts that show it was a little more than that.
2/ For instance, this email was one of multiple times the topic was brought up — including once in person.

Today at Davos, the conference for billionaires + others, Trump dismissed traumatic brain injuries (#TBI) sustained by US soldiers in Iraq as not “serious,” and referred to them as “headaches.”

But here’s the thing — they ARE really, really serious.

Why do we say that?

Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, problems w/ memory + reasoning.

This is a thread about US military readiness.

It’s not specifically about what’s happened in Iran and Iraq.

While we published these stories last year, they’re arguably even more crucial now as we enter into what may be another armed conflict:
The stories are part of a series focused on three deadly, avoidable incidents in 2017 and 2018:

- two collisions between U.S. destroyers and civilian cargo ships
- the third a midair collision of two American aircraft

In all, 23 Americans were killed in these mishaps.
Of even more immediate concern right now are the stories we published in June about how 10 U.S. sailors strayed into Iranian territorial waters in 2016…

Today is going to be procedural stuff. The Senate will have to approve the (completely BS) rules proposed by McConnell. Dems will offer amendments, of course, but since a simple majority rules I don't have a lot of hope any of the amendments will pass. #Trump #ImpeachmentTrial
For those of you just tuning in, McConnell is proposing that this trial have:

Zero witnesses
Zero admitted evidence
Ridiculously little time set aside for opening arguments and questions.
As little sunlight as possible.
