On @CNNSotu, Sen. Lankford (R-OK) insisted Trump's claim of not knowing Lev Parnas wasn't a lie -- despite 90-min secret recording of their 2018 meeting -- because Trump meets a lot of people; this was one dinner a year and a half ago. However...
@CNNSotu As my colleague @pbump has helpfully tabulated, there are at least 11 discrete occasions on which Trump & Parnas were in the proximity of one another — several of which have since been reported to have included detailed political conversations.

SCOTUS has lifted the nationwide injunction against administration's "public charge" rule. Even before the rule was finalized, though, it had a chilling effect on take-up of benefits that immigrants and their U.S.-citizen children are legally entitled to: pbs.org/newshour/show/…
Confusion and fear about being penalized for children's use of benefits is likely one reason why share of kids who are uninsured has been rising.
The administration has said it only wants immigrants who can prove they're self-sufficient, have no need of benefits, contribute to the US economy, etc. Three points about that.

Trump blames the Fed for his failure to deliver on his (ridiculous) GDP growth promises. Worth noting that interest rates today are actually well below what Trump's OMB had anticipated they'd be at this point, and GDP growth is still underdelivering nyti.ms/2NSf0jd
In its most recent forecasts, released last summer, WH predicted GDP would grow at >3% pace in 2019 & 2020. That was based on assumption that three-month bills would average 2.4% both years. Three-month bills are at ~1.5% now whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl…
despite a more-accommodative-than-WH-expected Fed, and despite massive fiscal stimulus (tax cuts + spending hikes), GDP growth is anticipated at well below administration promises: around ~2.3% for 2019, rather than the 3.2% that OMB forecast or the 4-6% Trump personally pledged

Congress inserted a provision in spending bill last month demanding White House turn over long-secret report that Trump used to declare in May 2019 that some unnamed imported autos pose risks to national security. Commerce Dept says it will not comply. reut.rs/30F5h4W
Trump today said he is still contemplating imposing those auto tariffs on the EU, based on results of that secret Commerce Dept report: "They know that I’m going to put tariffs on them if they don’t make a deal that’s a fair deal" wsj.com/articles/trump…
The idea that auto imports present a national security risk is nonsense of course. The US auto companies don't want these tariffs either washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump…
