Let's gist - The Nig. Military granting freedom to BokoHaram "Captives": RIGHT OR WRONG?

So i've been doing some small small studies abt this. The first point is to accept that the country is at WAR, sadly most Nigerians find it hard to accept the magnitude of the insurgency...
2. Now at War, the UN Human Right Office of the High Commissioner has conventions as regards treatment of PoWs (Prisoners of War).
Non-adherence to this would put a red flag on the military by Int'l orgs. like Amnesty Int'l, TI, ICC etc. Nigeria had already been accused...
3. But now the Nigerian Army is being commended by int'l arms for the ongoing de-radicalization/re-integration of BHTs.
It's reported some of them voluntarily flee frm the devilish group, some surrender, some were kidnapped victims themselves - so the army can't kill anyhow...
4. It's been reported that many of the defectors lend a strong helping hand to the military in intel & even encourage their old contacts in the sect to take the bold step too.
Countries like Syria & Iraq are told to learn frm Nig.

Finally, what's your own take about this?
