Statement by Arab League foreign ministers following emergency session totally rejects Trump's peace plan and calls on US administration to abide by internationally-acknowledged terms of reference for peace negotiations. Thread: 
The statement affirmed East #Jerusalem as a capital of the State of #Palestine, the right of the State of Palestine to exercise sovereignty on all its territories occupied in 1967, and on its air space, territorial waters, natural resources and borders
The Arab FMs rejected the "Deal of the Century". It doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the Palestinians and violates all previous agreed terms of reference upon which negotiations were held as well as int'l law. They called on Trump's administration to abide by these terms.
The statement said that the member-states will not deal with this "unjust" plan and "will not cooperate with the US administration to enforce it in any shape or form"
The Arab foreign ministers further added that Israel shouldn't not try to earn normalisation with Arab countries as long as it does not abide by the Arab Peace Initiative (2002), one of the foundations of any resolution of the conflict with #Israel
The statement noted that peace was a "strategic choice" and called for "serious negotiations" with #Israel, based on an international multilateral framework
The emergency session vowed to work with "peace-loving nations" as well as at the UN Security Council and General Assembly to take "appropriate measures" against any effort to undermine the rights of the Palestinian people
The statement warned #Israel, the occupying power, against enforcing any terms of Trump's plan by force, and said Israel will be held responsible for consequences of such actions
Finally, the Arab foreign ministers affirmed support for #Palestine and President Mahmoud Abbas in confronting this deal, particularly any attempts to "impose realities on the ground" in contravention of international law and UN resolutions. (end)
