An order was released on 25th January 2020 by the administration of J&K allowing internet access on 2G for 301 whitelisted websites. We asked a user to access some whitelisted websites on 2G.
This is what was found.

The user first tried to access the website of Jammu and Kashmir bank. All of these websites were accessed on a 2G connection.

Second website was Paspostindia.gov.in
Most websites took too long to respond and the user received a Time Out error. This was the UIDAI(AADHAR) website which didn't open. #Governmentservice

Constitution Bench of Supreme Court to hear petitions challenging abrogation of #Article370 and the reorganization of #JammuAndKashmir today at 10:30 am.

Centre had asked for more time to respond to new petitions - assists they haven't done so.

The court's own cause list states that the direction by SC to complete written pleadings before this hearing has not been complied with.

Centre and Govt of J&K were to submit responses by 22 November. Hearing that responses may have been submitted on Friday, 6 Dec.

Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mufti on Friday asked whether J&K was an integral part of #India or a colony.

J&K is not a colony. It is an integral part of #India. It is #Kashmir based parties who treated India as their colony by playing the separatist card.
Iltija Mufti also said that that #Article370 had nothing to do with development.

Only a person who lives outside the state can afford to be so ignorant. Iltija Mufti lives in Chennai and enjoys all the facilities which are not available here in #Kashmir.
#Article370 and 35A were responsible for J&K's backwardness while only benefiting a select few like the separatists, politicians of mainstream political parties of #Kashmir and their families.

Whilst the usual suspects have been keeping up with the situation (@ELINTNews @IntelCrab etc), western media have so far ignored it (as they did in the February 2019 tensions).

So, time for an update: what do you need to know?

In brief: people have been fleeing the region for the past few days amid fears of both unrest and attacks.
