New data on strikes! @bls_gov just released data on major work stoppages showing that there has been an upsurge in major strikes in the last 2 yrs. On avg in 2018 and 2019, 455,400 workers were involved in major work stoppages—the largest 2-yr average in 35 years.
@BLS_gov Another key finding in the new @bls_gov data on strikes is that the upsurge in strikes in the last two years has largely been fueled by an increase in *very* large strikes. In 2019, there were 10 strikes involving at least 20,000 workers.
