Excited to announce that my book on Chapo Guzman is set for release on May 19 by @Flatironbooks.
It’s a detailed narrative look at three separate US/Mexican investigations and capture operations on Chapo from 2009 to 2016. Almost all of it is new, never-before revealed material.

@Flatironbooks For the first time, you'll learn the backstory of the FBI's hunt for and recruitment of Christian Rodriguez, the young techie who went to work for Chapo and ultimately became a federal informant. Rodriguez's story first came to light at Chapo's trial.

@Flatironbooks There are also new details about the botched US/Mexican raid on Chapo in Cabo San Lucas in February '12 when Chapo & his bodyguard slipped out the backdoor of a mansion and escaped. And on a massive multi-city US wiretap probe that led to his arrest in Mazatlan in February 2014.

@Flatironbooks You'll also learn how after Chapo escaped from prison in 2015, US and Mexican spies and law enforcement officers tracked him down again in Los Mochis in January 2016, leading to his final arrest and extradition.

@Flatironbooks In between, there is lots of new stuff on the alleged bribe that Chapo paid to former Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto, Chapo's early days as a narco (his first drug run at age 16) and on his enduring efforts of making a movie about his life.
