The same people worried that Bernie Sanders will autocratically try to nationalize American industry clap and bark like trained seals when Trump talks about yanking the licenses of MSNBC and CNN. /1
Meanwhile, the same people who deplore Trump's tariffs and bailouts as madness describe themselves as socialists who would gladly like government control of large food industries because: Socialism. /2
The lesson here is that America is addicted to bullshit populism, and they just argue over which flavor of that bullshit they prefer. If forced into this corner, I will pick the less dangerous populist, who I think is Sanders, but I hope the Dems give me an alternative. /3x
