1) First, much VC is biotech VC. FF, a16z, YC all have large biotech arms.
2) Second, many "tech" journalists lack CS or engineering degrees. Yet somehow they continue to comment on not just tech, but biotech-related topics.
Yes: MDs, nurses, biotech will lead the way. But there will be a role for tech in the form of remote work & telemedicine at a minimum.
It's good to start thinking about resource reallocation.
This isn't to say some journalists aren't doing a good job here -- they are! But the job of a VC is technical diligence.
And every business in the world may have to think about supply chain issues, travel bans, face masks, remote work, canceled conferences…including many VC-backed companies!
So, yes, please talk about it.
