I disagree with this view. Here’s why.

1) First, much VC is biotech VC. FF, a16z, YC all have large biotech arms.

2) Second, many "tech" journalists lack CS or engineering degrees. Yet somehow they continue to comment on not just tech, but biotech-related topics.
I like a lot of @asanwal's work at CB Insights, but I think he has this wrong.

Yes: MDs, nurses, biotech will lead the way. But there will be a role for tech in the form of remote work & telemedicine at a minimum.

It's good to start thinking about resource reallocation.
As for credentials, VCs have a higher proportion of people with PhDs, MDs, technical backgrounds, and the like than most newsrooms covering the topic.

This isn't to say some journalists aren't doing a good job here -- they are! But the job of a VC is technical diligence.
As I've said before, the virus response is going to be multidisciplinary.

And every business in the world may have to think about supply chain issues, travel bans, face masks, remote work, canceled conferences…including many VC-backed companies!

So, yes, please talk about it.
