@AlbertaatNoon There seems to be a pattern emerging. The UCP appoints these panels to study certain issues, like SCSs, health care, etc, and the panel returns a report that validates the UCP's ideological position and provides justification for their plans. 1/5
I think it would be very interesting to see what direction was given to each panel in terms of scope, and results expected/desired. In other words, to what extent is the UCP telling these panels what to find? 2/5
I have a background in research, and I know while there is good empirical research possible, I also know that some "research" findings are tailored to please the client. 3/5
What I am hearing in the case of the SCS study, the parameters excluded harm reduction, they used a web survey, the police are contradicting the report... Credibility seems very, very low, from a scientific standpoint. 4/5
Even your guest who represents the community association is not rejoicing in the report, suggesting selective representation of community opinion by the panel. I.e. they only included opinions of people opposed to SCSs. Not a valid enough report to base policy decisions on! 5/5
