This is your daily pension announcement: The enemy is in retreat edition! Shandy is trying to negotiate a surrender with the doctors.

I thought that in honor of #InternationalWomensDay I would again point out Travis' record in this area.
#ABLeg #handsoffmypension
After all, he was the one who failed to reappoint two highly qualified women to the ATRF Board in December. Including one who was the only Board Member with an accounting designation. (Which, I can tell you from personal experience, is important for a pension board.) #ABLeg
And, instead appointed a man without an accounting designation, without a CFA, and without any DB pension experience at all. For the pension board of a profession that has a majority of women...
(Travis left one spot empty on the ATRF Board rather than reappoint.) #AbLeg
Wow.
In other news, the Alberta MD War Room is an example to war rooms everywhere. With surgical precision they dropped truth bombs all over Shandy and his entirely questionable "facts" and also pointed out his poor tie selection.

The NDP MLAs have received thousands upon thousands of letters asking for pension sanity.

"...MLA Christina Gray intends to introduce a bill that would protect your CPP and return control of public-sector pensions back to the pension members." #AbLeg

The UCP MLAs have also received many letters. Please push back against the stock (error riddled) response that is now being used. If this ATRF move had a hope in hell of saving $41 million there would now be a timeline of when such savings would accrue. #ABLeg #handsoffmypension
The only thing that is accruing is the transition costs for AIMCo and ATRF. Travis needs to give a detailed account of when and where teachers will see the $500 per year per (each) savings. (spoiler alert, not for many years and then $50 if you are lucky; could well be negative)
Jerrica Goodwin, the Press Sec for Travis is again giving us reassurances:
"Goodwin said a clause in legislation that allows government to issue directives to AIMCo has never been used. AIMCo is legally required to manage money in the best interests of its clients, she said."
While I am happy to find out, after repeatedly asking for months, that no Minister of TBF has used the "directive" power in the AIMCo Act. I would still like a legal opinion (which I am sure Travis has sitting on his desk) on this issue. #ABLeg #handsoffmypension
There you have it straight from the pension war room!! Keep fighting the good fight. Your actions are getting results particularly with rural MLAs who see no sanity in the ATRF move or that crazy CPP talk!! #handsoffmypension #backtothebunker #ABLeg
