Did he even read the MacKinnon report on K-12 Education? It shows that:
1. Alberta spends far less than the avg of the other three populous provinces per student. $13,027 avg for big three versus $11,121 for AB. #ABLeg #readit

2. Max pay for teachers in AB is less than max in ON: $116,000 versus $119,000. This is the sole metric for teacher pay in the KPMG data. It is quoted incorrectly by UCP MLAs as "average teacher pay". ($104,000 in BC)

3. The MacKinnon Report makes no recommendation that K-12 education funding needs to be cut in AB. Only two recommendations: reduce spending on admin and governance and rejig funding formula to address enrollment growth. #ABLeg

4. The "doesn't translate to better outcomes..." statement comes from the Health portion of the report. Please refer to the most recent PISA results to reassure yourself that in AB we DO have better educational outcomes than the vast majority of educational systems tested. #ABLeg

The problem with saying things that are not true is that if you say them enough they will sound like the truth. The concept of "truthiness" as put forward by Colbert.

Even the Minister of Education is shit talking our PISA results in order to advance the UCP agenda. #ABLeg #lie

So it seems to me that we have a system outperforming at a below average cost. Not a perfect system, but a system.

This kind of over-generalization causes me great concern because it parallels the commonly held, but false, things that are being said about equalization. #ABLeg
