"The only way doctors and other healthcare workers can avoid exposure to Coronavirus and avoid becoming patients themselves is by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). (1/5)
Physicians have informed each other that community clinics & hospitals nationwide are dangerously low or completely out of N95 masks. (2/5)
Many physicians are wondering why there isn’t a vigorous national response to get N95masks out to every clinic, ED, & hospital working the front lines to battle this virus. (3/5)
Doctors need proper airborne PPE (N95masks, face shields, gowns, and gloves) before we can perform nasal swab testing for Covid-19 and treat sick patients without spreading the infection. (4/5)
Please ask doctors and nurses what is needed to fight this war. We are willing to risk our lives to help our patients but we need supplies for the safety of doctors, healthcare workers, and our patients." (5/5)

Kari Kolstoe is desperate. She has stage 4 cancer, (weakened immune system) & is onboard the Grand Princess Cruise-ship with 21 coronavirus patients. The ship is off the N. Calif. coast. Kari has no symptoms but needs to get off to receive chemo. Cc: @kevincramer @gavinnewsom
She has a chemo appointment March 10 that she can't afford to miss. Kari is from Fargo, North Dakota. She's reached out to her U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer in hopes that he can help her in being evacuated from the ship.
Right now, she and her husband are getting all their information from the media. Not much is being provided on board the ship, she says, other than food and water which is placed at their door. They are not allowed to leave their room. Presently, Kari does not feel sick.

@cdcgov: American air travelers should be aware that if they have been to China in the last 14 days, they will be routed through one of seven airports to undergo enhanced health screenings.
Any individual traveling from China who has either been in Hubei Province or other areas of the mainland and is showing symptoms associated with the virus will be screened and subject to mandatory quarantine by medical professionals at a nearby facility.

I just spent hours waiting, outside, in the cold and rain, at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles waiting to get my daughter tested for #coronavirus after a week of symptoms and the discovery of a recent exposure.
We were told to sit outside in the driveway of the ER in the rain for over two hours and only got into the tent after I went back into triage twice and frankly, kind of freaked out. When we finally got into the tent, we were treated respectfully and with kindness by the doctor.
But after a series of questions about exposure and my daughter's symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath), the doctor, who was respectful, sage, and honest, told us that their tests are being rationed. They simply don't have enough tests to test people with no pre-existing

countries listed on the CDC website. Even as this outbreak evolves and we have more cases in more communities, the risk of serious illness with young healthy people is very low. The concern now is for the elderly and chronically ill population for whom the mortality rate 3/7

First check to see if they bothered to add any variability whatsoever in the model they are using to supposedly report actual numbers from a complex system.

The mortality rate they want you to report is the - 0 day rate: Today's Confirmed Death total minus Today's Confirmed Case total.

This has not varied outside of 1/10th of 1% in the last 5 prints.
