According to a simulation by TU Wien and dwh, reducing social interactions by 25% would reduce the maximum of concurrent Covid-19 cases from 2M to 360k in Austria.

Austria hast 44k regular hospital beds and 2,5k intensive care unit (ICU) beds. There are no official numbers, but based on past occupancy, around 80% are currently in use. addendum.org/coronavirus/wi…
About 4% of Covid-19 cases need ICU beds Even at 360k concurrent cases 14.5k ICU beds would be needed. About 490 are currently available.

Additional 14% need regular care at the hospital. 50k beds with 9k currently available.

In Lombardy (Italy), they increased the number of ICU beds from around 850 to 1350 in two weeks (+60%).

I used the Twitter Standard API to collect the Tweets. The full query was: “OmaUmweltsau OR umweltsau OR nazisau OR wdr OR wdr2 OR UmweltsauOma OR UmweltsauGate OR k2912 OR TomBuhrow OR Buhrow”.

Time frame 2019-12-27 6am to 2019-12-30 6am. /1
Including "wdr" and "wdr2" increased the number of false positives. After looking at Tweets that wouldn't be in the dataset, I came to the conclusion that including them creates a more complete picture.

Comparison to Tweets before the outrage showed low background noise. /2

I wanted to push my latest two tutorials to Medium because my older articles got some views there. I stopped using it as the first place to publish something, when they introduced their signup wall.

They turned off the WordPress-to-Medium plugin, so I had to use the manual import. Which worked okay.

But then they told me, that I have to enable the metered paywall for may articles, if I want them to be distributed to more people than only my followers.
The articles are freely available on my website. I am okay when people pay for them on Medium. I activated the metered paywall. How do I get paid?

Per default I don't get paid. I have to join their Partner Program first. To do that I need a Stripe account. Luckily I have one.

@christianbaye13 & me have been thinking about the big differences in mortality rates so far during the corona outbreak in Europe. The differences in case-fatality rates are humongous. Italy has one of 6% while countries like Norway, Denmark & Germany have rates still close to 0.
Of course the rates will likely converge somewhat over time as the virus spreads and there are many effects in this. Division bias may play a role, as does the time since the outbreak.
However, we thought maybe there is something to learn in this in order to help to organize our lives in a way to minimize the risks for us and we pose to others. We picked up a striking data difference that @AndreasShrugged pointed out.

#COVIDー19 @ewarren @BernieSanders We need a progressive agenda on epidemics STAT! There is going to be panic, an emergency, hoarding and if Dems in office and Dem candidates do not prepare an agenda that is more than Trump is screwing up then Trump ultimately will win.
1. RELIEF FUND: Until we have univ. health care we need an emergency health relief fund. The # of critical cases, meaning cases requiring significant medical intervention, are more than ten fold the number of deaths. For many this will result bankruptcy levels of medical debt.
2. ER COVERAGE: Health Insurance companies should not be allowed to deny coverage for treatments that are not 'pre-approved' or "FDA approved' as all of the treatment options for severe cases of COVID are 'off-label'
