@Peston For whatever motive, you have allowed yourself to be the megaphone for unaccountable trial balloon propaganda that sews uncertainty and misery. This was comical during Brexit, but it is a serious ethical failing in you now.
@Peston The absurdity of your 'my job is' tweets: obviously your job is to make as much money as possible for you and your employer and this is done by driving traffic, exactly what happens by manoevering such that you become a regular port of call for dramatic unattributed briefings.
@Peston Even my local foodstores seem to rise above this and recognize their social responsibilities at these times. In their case by refusing to raise prices and rationing.
@Peston During the Brexit crises you reproduced on many occasions false briefings from No 10, rarely with any corrective, and despite many experts intervening to correct your tweets you rarely sent those to your 1 million followers.
@Peston You must know they can't read the game you and No 10 are playing nor have the expertise to sense when you are passing on misleading information. You don't issue the correctives, typically, becase you know you won't be used as a source in future which is bad for business.
@Peston At the most basic level, your job is to tell people what happened! Because almost always that is what helps people make good choices for themselves, including about who to vote for.
