Video shows Louisiana police officers plant drugs on a man they have handcuffed and forced to the ground, then panic when they realize they are being filmed.

It was filmed in Jefferson Parish on cell phone yesterday.

In case you thought racist policing would be on pause during the coronavirus crisis.
Just FYI, the relevant police department is the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, @JeffParishSO.
.@JeffParishSO posted this statement on their Twitter account at 3:16PM this afternoon.
I'm gonna suggest, contrary to the suggestion in the SO's statement, the police are not best placed to investigate the police - and neither is Paul Connick Jr, the Jefferson Parish DA. The FBI and US Attorneys Office need to step in.

Video shows NYPD officers Kyle Erickson and Elmer Pastran planting weed in a car during a traffic stop.

It's not the first time they've been caught framing someone on camera - @nytimes published body cam footage of them doing the same thing a year ago.
This is the @nytimes story from November 2018, also including the body cam footage from that incident.

Both officers have never been disciplined by NYPD and continue to work patrol. nytimes.com/2018/11/19/nyr…
In that first case, police arrested the teenage occupant of the car, Lasou Kuyateh, and he was held on Rikers Island for 2 weeks on bail he could not afford. He had no criminal record and yet a prosecutor asked for bail and a judge set it.

This is Ocean Drive, South Beach, yesterday, where it is Spring Break & Miami Beach PD are out in full effect.

A young girl running across the street accidentally collides with a cop, who decides to throw her to the ground, choke her - & then arrests her.
Here's more of the police assaulting a group of Black teenagers, apparently shooting a rifle into the ground to scare people (may have been pepper balls) and tasering people for ... being in a crowd.

Strange how you never see video like this when White students go full on crazy at Daytona Beach during Spring break. These teenagers don't appear to be doing anything but having fun, but we've got police in SWAT gear with assault rifles swarming the scene.

This content needs a strong trigger warning for police violence.

This young man was stopped by a plainclothes police officer this evening in Canarsie, Brooklyn, apparently for being in a park shortly after the 9PM closing time.

Content warning: police violence (video part 2).

Regardless of the reason for the stop (because I am sure NYPD will come up with a reason like a report of a gun) there is no possible justification for this horrific use of violence.

This young man is clearly terrified, because he is being held at gunpoint by a cop (who doesn't even identify as a cop). Like anyone would be. But he is fully cooperative. He doesn't do anything that would have needed more than one cop to calmly arrest him.
