Interesting how "Wuhan coronavirus" or "Chinese coronavirus" is now being called not just racist against Chinese people, but also against all Asians, as if being Asian is synonymous with being Chinese.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) originated in Wuhan, China & was covered up by the Chinese Communist Party, which lied to global health experts & exacerbated the pandemic's global spread. Now the Chinese are engaged in a disinfo campaign to blame the U.S.

(1) The Chinese Communist Party's incompetence & deception & gaslighting helped unleash a global pandemic.

(2) If you're racist towards Chinese people or any other Asian Americans, you're an asshole, and if you commit a racial crime, the book should be thrown at you.

This is the correct take. D.C. is not a real city — stay loyal to your hometown team.
The addendum to this is that it is okay to have the Nationals be your ***secondary*** team if your primary team doesn’t make the playoffs etc. — but D.C. is a made-up city so you can not abandon your hometown team upon moving here.
Lots of people angry that I called D.C. a made-up city — some even calling me racist for doing so! — so, just to be clear, every city except for Cleveland is a made up city. Stop being fans of teams from made up cities.

The numbers of the #Wuhan #Coronavirus infected, recovered & died, have been updated this morning.

They are admitting an overnight increase of 15,000 new cases in 24 hrs!

It's been edging up consistently at a much lower rate.

In the last 3 weeks, the number of confirmed #2019nCoV cases has soared from ~50 in #China to 14,000 in 23 countries + 300 deaths.

The real number is much higher. Epidemiological models estimate that the real number of cases of #Wuhan #coronavirus is *100,000 or even more*.😳
The spread of #2019nCoV (≥14,000 new cases in ~3 weeks) is much faster than when SARS and MERS emerged.

SARS was vanquished in 2003 after spreading for 9 months with only 8,098 confirmed cases. MERS has been circulating since 2012, with only ~2,500 known cases.

👉🏼Rate of new cases is accelerating
👉🏼Spreads more easily & is more deadly than seasonal flu
👉🏼Unlike #influenza, NO treatments or #vaccine

Although seasonal #influenza causes far more deaths than the new #coronavirus has (thus far), #2019nCoV appears to spread more readily from person-to-person + appears to be more deadly (higher mortality rate in those infected) = VERY bad.

A major challenge is that the ability of #2019nCoV to spread (R0) and the mortality rate (% infected who die) are not confirmed, because it’s highly likely that there are FAR MORE cases of #coronavirus than reported.

Some don’t see a doctor, lack of testing, poor reporting...
