Some governments, certainly the UK, think they can get the benefits of globalisation - trade, investment - while scaling back the cooperation. Redefining globalisation. And coronavirus response as a test.
Meanwhile US, China, EU are equally trying to use coronavirus to project their views of the world. Yet globalisation - goods and information flows, copying responses, bodies like the WTO - is still with us. Overall though not as optimistic as @tgemiles medium.com/@tmiles1/in-a-…

At the work site immediately next to where I live around 20 workmen (all men) are currently mingling and drinking coffee / tea etc. As if nothing whatsoever is happening that could affect them.
People still mingling at the work site. Also appears other construction sites continue working. Starting to be rather unsure about which places of work are supposed to wind down and which are supposed to continue as before.
I'm told many construction workers are self employed. So important that the self-employed financial package comes through soon.

Just some thoughts on the UK coronavirus press conference I missed... not seeing much reaction to what I think was an announcement of a delivery service for one and a half million people. That's a pretty huge scheme to put in place in a matter of days.
Lots of people seem to be arguing about people not social distancing in parks, not so many about the almost certainly much larger numbers crammed in supermarkets (and having been in both over the weekend I know which I'd be more worried about).
Testing, this one seems to have gone a bit quiet, but this tweet made me wonder whether there's a lot more the UK government needs to be trying to do at speed?

It would be fair to say we haven't yet fixed our supermarket problem. Not joining in with the cry that everyone in the queue is selfish, similarly people going to parks etc...
We have a home delivery problem as well...
Noting that Southwark council will close parks.

Crude Oil price war between KSA & Russia is good for India as it reduces the Oil Price Inflation reducing the substantial risk of Stagflation. Wid High Inflation with low growth & demand in Economy couldn’t have ask for more. A cool off in inflation cud mean more rate cuts by RBI
While the American shale will be hurt as well as low oil prices make it the market uncompetitive for them. However, America is already using Trade tactics to force coutries to buy American Shale/LNG to reduce Trade Deficit. Thus Saudi Arabia will be the biggest looser in this war
Iran will also be the biggest sufferer as it already faces sanctions & now oil price shock would kill whatever remains of its economy. Saudis have essentially to destroy Iran & Russian backing of it have sought to hit themselves with sledge hammer.

3/9 The Estimate of Q1,2020 Chinese GDP has moved down from +4% YoY to now at -6% YoY as manufacturing and services both have stalled since the Lunar New Year holidays of end January . Pollution levels have reduced dramatically as this photo shows. #coronavirus

A few thoughts on #Coronavirus:
1) See how USSR regime handled the first weeks following Chernobyl catastrophe (a lot of information about it on Internet) to understand the reactions of the Communist Government during emergencies. #Coronavirus contagion began in December 2019!
2) The nuclear accident at Chernobyl nuclear power plant was completely classified & the communist regime repeated its deceitful mantra: “Nothing threatens peoples’ health.” The whole emergency was handled with deception, cover-ups & control of narrative nsarchive.gwu.edu/briefing-book/…
3) So far we don’t really know what we don’t know about #Coronavirus and the CCP is providing us with numbers we can’t be sure that they reflect the reality on the ground. How long has the contagion been spreading since December before the Government decided to introduce masks?
