Last night the CEO of @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield) took over my TV screen in an ad to tell me about all they're doing re: #COVID19.

He didn't answer a few other questions I have about helping hospitals and low-income ppl in MI as this #CoronavirusPandemic rages:

1/

1) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): Hospitals rely on you to reimburse services they provide. They can't do elective surgeries that keep them afloat.

How are you helping them stay open through the #CoronavirusPandemic? Will you keep them open?

2) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): how are you supporting low-income ppl who AREN'T suffering #COVIDー19 but ARE struggling with the other diseases humans get, like diabetes, heart disease, or cancer and lost insurance right now?

Will you extend their coverage?

3) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): how are you supporting folks who've lost jobs to #COVID but still have HIGH DEDUCTIBLE plans and are afraid to see the doctor because they can't pay the deductible? What are you doing for them?

Will you eliminate their deductible?

4) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): Tell me about the hourly janitors you contract to clean your properties.

Are you paying them full wages even while they can't work because of #COVID? Or are you leaving them to go w/o work (or insurance)?

5) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): How are you changing billing to facilitate care for seniors on advantage plans who can't leave their homes right now for #COVIDー19?

Can you reassure them they won't fall into the bureaucratic hell that is haggling w/ insurance?

6) @BCBSM (Blue Cross Blue Shield): How much have you donated to lobbying, electioneering, or swaying public opinion against #MedicareforAll or #SinglePayer healthcare which would have ANSWERED all of my questions above?

Will you pledge to support it after #COVID?

7) To the CEO of @BCBSM: How much of the $19,200,000 you made last year are you donating to people affected by #COVID19? People are literally losing their livelihoods--you won't.

Can you pledge to give all but $400,000 (that's still >2x what the CMS administrator makes)?
