I understand the government is using the same tools as those used in 1918 but this isn't 1918. That would be akin to using the same battle plans as those used in WW1 or the civil war. We have testing, GPS tracking. We can selectivity quarantine the infected and enforce it.
We don't need to use outdated methods we used in 1918 top reduce the spread. We have the technology to quarantine every infected person now and allow the rest of society to function, especially in states and communities with very low cases. Put testing centers up at welcome
centers on the interstates. Have every person drive up and be tested. Test every passenger that goes on an airplane or bus. You don't need to check papers or ID unless the test is positive. We have state of the art mapping, drones and sats along with GPS to enforce quarantines
without needing massive manpower. It will created a delay but so what? If a community has spread set up testing centers in and around that community. Test anyone that goes out while testing those within. If they test negative let them go about their business.
Using the same tools in the same way as they were used in 1918 to lockdown entire cities and states in this day and age is beyond stupid. You might as well fight the next war with bayonets and musket balls.
