It’s time for the states that Trump refuses to assist to talk about secession.
Good luck on the economy without New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Glorious Leader Kim Jong Don.

Enjoy climate change without half the Great Lakes.
We have a president enacting mass murder out of spite and a Congress that refuses to constrain him for it.

If we aren’t Americans when we’re in danger for our lives, in what way are we Americans?
Yes but last time it was the confederacy that seceded.

It’s about time for us to recognize that this is a confederate presidency.

Honestly if Congress isn’t going to act to immediately remove Trump for high crimes, and we know Trump isn’t going to stop otherwise, I don’t understand any other way to illustrate severity of withholding medical supplies from certain states during a pandemic.
Hell, Michigan is already Canada’s Florida. Let’s just secede to Canada.

Canada gets the W Coast, MI, New York, and New England.

Northern parts of Ohio and Illinois and Minnesota and Pennsylvania will hopefully join the winning team and the southern parts can join Kentucky.
Every member of Congress that isn’t actively agitating for impeachment and removal can go get bent.

You can’t let the president kill people because governors didn’t grovel right.

Refusing to politicize this crisis is choosing to politicize this crisis.

Good point.

EVERY city should secede to Canada.
Even better, every state should secede to Canada. Leave Trump and his impotent Congress holding a sack full of nothing.

We have a Confederate president committing crimes against humanity and a Congress that refuses to act to constrain him.
I should say people explaining the logistical problems with this proposal are missing the point of the proposal.

It's not that this is a realistic plan.

It's a picture of the severity of the scandal.
The severity of the scandal is:

during one of the gravest national threats of a century

we have a leader willing to use the power of the federal government transactionally as leverage to consolidate his own power

with lives of millions as hostages

And Congress won't stop him
Simply put, the President has decided that some of us are states and some of us are not.

He's declared war on us. He's declared Civil War.

Not as a unifier, but as a Confederate.

It's a Confederate presidency.
Maybe he hasn't stopped because those who should be stopping him have hoped we haven't noticed the absolutely unacceptable severity of what should be the biggest political scandal in U.S. history.

Maybe losing the states with most of the U.S. economy in it would help.
States governments from those states that are having medical supplies withheld should withhold all federal taxes.

It's a good start.

Do I actually want the union of states to break up? No.

Trump is enforcing a reality where there is no unity of states. He's creating a reality under which the dissolution of states will become inevitable.

Congress in refusing to remove him is complicit.
He is a confederate president.

Congress can choose whether or not to be a confederate body.

Either the country survives or Trump does. There's no reality where both survive.
Coronavirus is our crisis, but Trump declared war on us. Our leader is using our crisis as a weapon against his own people. Congress refuses to act.

Here it is then, my picture of the severity of the crisis that Donald Trump has created, and which Congress refuses to address.
I don't want to abandon "red states." I want to make it clear that the president has declared civil war on his own country, and to suggest that it's going to take something this dramatic to shake our leadership out of their complacency about it.
