Update on pandemic failure within country! From my daughter who works in long-term care/assisted living, Caleb is my 20 year old grandson who works at pharmacy chain. Because of lack of testing, 5 people in household under quarantine, 2 work in pharmacy chain, one in healthcare.
Caleb went to the doctor today for sore throat.I called the doctor. She said that right now, even though they are swabbing people, it is up to the health department to determine whether or not to test the kit because they have so many and limites supplies.
She said since my son had the symptom of sore throat but more importantly works at a pharmacy he checks the boxes to have a swab test done but she was only about 70 percent sure that the health department will test it.
That is why she recommended quarantine of 14 days because clinical symptoms/characteristics are currently overriding a positive test since they are not testing all swabs sent to the health department.
She said even if the test comes back negative the household is to self quarantine because the test accuracy is limited and there have been alot of false negatives as well. She said the orders for self quarantine are for my entire household for 14 days regardless of test results.
Then she tells me this!
Fourteen days at home mean nothing if i return 2 work as it is peaking & then end up sick & home again. We dont have paid covid 19 sick leave so that means i am making no money which is a financial hit & we will have nothing left in our savings or worse.

She works in medical field, who is making them quarantine without ANY sick leave for it! WTF!!!
