A THREAD (AND AN OFFER!) for front line doc and nurse researchers! 😷🩺🩹

FRONT LINERS: Was your plan to submit an NIH grant interrupted by #covid19?

We want to help YOU for helping us. 🙏1/x
We appreciate your 100% clinic commitment 💜and want to help the research stay alive! 💪

THE DEAL: A team of NIH-funded researchers has offered to provide volunteer peer reviews of your R or K proposal drafts you intended (or still intend) to submit on the next NIH deadline. 2/x
How will this work?

I will match you and your proposal to a volunteer reviewer who will give you comments and feedback just like an NIH reviewer would. 3/x
If you tabled your submission, feedback on a draft might still help you to improve your application for next cycle.

Send it along!

Even just Specific Aims if that's all you have!

Instead of it gathering dust while you are busy, put it on our plates for a review!

If you’d like to be matched to a volunteer reviewer

You would like to BE a volunteer peer reviewer, DM me. #academictwitter 5/x
P.S. I have NIH-funded clinical and population health researchers at the ready to volunteer a review.

(I need basic scientists though!) 6/x
P.S.S. Props to @conroylab @DrKateWolin @DrRachelShelton and others not on Twitter for volunteering their time.

Once again, thank you FRONT LINERS for all you do! 8/x
Update: I have basic scientist reviewers now!
UPDATE: I have LOTS of volunteer reviewers covering a huge range of expertise!

(And holy moly, the front liners have some amazing research ideas!)
