Pleased to have a walk-on part in the first @pmdfoster FT Brexit story. And Alan is as usual right on trade matters - except the UK government approach could be all of the three.
Where are the grown-up voices in government to point out that the midst of a global fight against coronavirus is really not a good time to pick unnecessary fights with the rest of our continent? Another very good reason to delay talks.
And who in the UK government has considered the likely response of the US Congress to perceived attempts to renege on the Northern Ireland protocol, or whether Japan's existing lack of trust in the UK will be further harmed by our behaviour?
It seems Number 10 want to blame civil servants for faults in handling coronavirus. But all evidence is that key decisions in this government are made by Number 10. Then if they fail, as they often have, others are blamed. Hence a lack of trust. ft.com/content/b7277a…
