2. These are the policy choices that created the current pandemic profiteering: a) initial denial of problem (which created much more severe pandemic b) refusal to use Defense Productions Act to comandeer medial supplies c) Darwinian federalism.
3. By Darwinian federalism I mean the Trump decision not to centralize medical supply distribution but rather to tell the states to look after own needs, creating a situation where there is a competition for supplies, driving up prices.
