We have a tough fight ahead. New York City needs a staggering amount of equipment and personnel to meet this crisis and save every life we can.

15,000 more ventilators
45,000 more medical personnel
65,000 more hospital beds
We believe we can do it — IF we get the help we need.
The next big test comes next week. We'll need 2,500-3,000 ventilators. It will be a matter of life and death in our hospitals.
We're looking to the Federal and State stockpiles. We’re scouring every private source, every possible manufacturer. We know we’re not the only place facing challenges, but we are the epicenter. We need these supplies.
I spoke to the President and his team last night and told them we needed 200,000 N95 masks. I want to thank them for following through and rapidly delivering them to our public hospitals.

That shows just how quickly the federal government is capable of moving.
I want to commend Governors Cuomo and Murphy for taking the crucial step to order private companies to release any stockpile they have of crucially needed supplies.

This is EXACTLY the kind of action we need to say and I'd urge any state in the nation to do the same.
Following Governor Cuomo's order, if any private organization, company or individual has lifesaving supplies or equipment and refuses to share them, I'm authorizing the NYPD to ENSURE these items are turned over and brought to where the need is greatest.
Our health care workers are in their hardest and finest hour. We need to give them support. We need 45,000 more clinical staff to bolster the ranks on the front lines. We’re bringing on 3,600 contracted health workers and nearly 1,000 volunteers—they’ll just be the first wave.
There's a peacetime approach in Washington and that won't cut it. I'm calling for a national enlistment effort for ALL available medical personnel into the fight against coronavirus.
It’s time for the Commander in Chief to give the order. We CANNOT leave the military on their bases. Bring them all to the front. Now.
