How is anyone tweeting about anything other than the fact that young doctors and nurses are dying in America because of a failure to provide adequate PPE? How is not every politician, governor, hospital administrator, celebrity, athlete, and news person NOT screaming this?
In a world where we can send people to the moon, have computers that are cell phones, and have technology that can do more than we ever imagined - HOW can we not be protecting medical providers during a PANDEMIC?

This is chilling. A nurse on the front lines in Chicago tried to wear her own N95 to work while caring for COVID pts (when it wasn’t supplied for her) & she was told by management she would not be allowed to. She quit her job.

Although I utilize a plant based diet to help my patients, I recognize & respect there are many dietary patterns that help patients. Normally I recommend a low fat plant based diet, but about 10 months ago I started to utilize plant based diets of all macronutrient profiles.

To be noted: I know nutrition can be wildly controversial. Plant based nutrition happens to be the dietary intervention that has worked in my practice, and I do recognize there are many different ways to be healthful and help our patients. This happens to be one of them 🙂

The White House said they had killed the leader of Al-Qaeda. Trump was pushing a jobs report. Trump was taking protected land in Utah. That’s a hell of a lot for one day. They did their best at distracting us even though it’s on record. 3/?

What is male/female distribution of cases?
According to literature Male:Female ratio is 60:40.
In known patients (with gender details)
Males higher in India as well around 65*
what is age distribution of Deceased vs Recovered so far.
we see the people dying are 60+(in line with world data mortality ~10-16%)
as compared to those recovering.
there is significant difference in age

In our current situation, there isn't enough appropriate gear to protect every healthcare worker. Combining the normal stressors of everyday life in the ER (on which we thrive) the very real likelihood that we'll become a victim of this #pandemic looms large in our minds. (2/14)
It's a stressor that we bring home as well. From changing out of our scrubs in a “safe place” at the hospital and disinfecting every item we carry back and forth, to disrobing in our garages and sprinting to a shower before greeting our loved ones, life is very different. (3/14)

A quick guide to #PPE (personal protective equipment) for non-professionals. This is NOT medical advice.

PPE includes masks, face shields, hoods, respirators, gloves, etc. PPE is used to protect healthcare workers and patients from spreading and catching infectious diseases.

METHODS OF DISEASE TRANSMISSION:
Different infectious diseases are transmitted in different ways:

* Direct Contact
* Indirect Contact (fomites)
* Fecal-oral Route
* Droplet Transmission
* Airborne (Aerosol) Transmission
* Vector-borne transmission (fleas, mosquitos, etc)

Methods of infectious disease transmission are NOT mutually exclusive.

Many diseases, like #SARS_COV_2, the virus causing #COVID19, spread by droplets, aerosols, indirect contact, and the fecal-oral route.

The difference between droplets & aerosols can be blurry in practice. 3/
