1. We note the fact that a large number of positive cases have emerged associated with the #TablighiJamaath meeting in Delhi is very likely because those who attended the gathering and their contact networks were specifically tested in large numbers.
2. We note that many of these cases were asymptomatic, i.e. current testing protocol will not pick them up. We have no idea of how many such asymptomatic cases might exist because of the lack of large-scale planned testing.
3. We feel that it was an error on the part of the organizers and the administration to allow the event in Delhi, or any other large gatherings elsewhere, to happen.
4. In view of this, we urge the government to greatly expand testing across the country to allow for identifying more asymptomatic cases.
5. We also urge the government to take stern action against anyone spreading communal or social hatred in these difficult times. Collective efforts by all citizens are needed to combat the current health crisis. #WeAreInThisTogether
