Dr. Grant Colfax says San Francisco’s ICU beds have increased from 277 to 530, a 91% increase. He says the city still expects a surge in #coronavirus cases and that the shelter-in-place rules have bought time to prepare. Regular hospital beds have increased by 52%.

San Francisco has secured 883 hotel rooms to house critical first responders including healthcare workers who need somewhere to rest between shifts or don't want to risk exposing their families to the #coronavirus.
The city is also moving away from large congregate shelters towards housing homeless people in hotels rooms, something several supervisors have been pushing for weeks. Moscone West will only be used for homeless people who've recovered from Covid-19.
Muni chief Jeffrey Tumlin says decreased service -- only 17 lines -- will be in place by Wednesday, and people can blame him directly if they're late for work.
SF Police Chief Bill Scott says rain has helped keep people inside over the past couple of weekends. Two people have been cited for breaking shelter-in-place rules; more have been warned. "This is a matter of life and death," he says. "Stay at home."
Burglaries and vandalism of shuttered businesses have happened, Chief Scott said. Officers are safeguarding boarded up businesses. "We will be out in full force for that." Says public should continue to report crimes; violent crimes to 911, property crimes to 415-553-0123.
Scammers are going door-to-door distributing masks and asking to inspect homes. Chief Scott says these are not city workers even if they claim to be. Call 911. Also says to call police if you are a victim of a hate crime. Five have been reported against Asian community this year.
Chief Scott says no mandatory curfew is being planned for San Francisco.
