The latest remarks by PDP claiming to fight #abrogation of #Article370 comes to no surprise. The party helmed by Ms Mehbooba #Mufti has a long history of peddling controversies in #Kashmir to gain political traction
(1/19)
#PDP was founded in 1998 Late #Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. Interestingly he was the state's Home Minister when the fateful abduction of Rubaiya Sayeed(his daughter)took place in 1989. Many believes this was the turning point in #Kashmir's history which propelled it into chaos
(2/19)
PDP Government’s blunders in #BhuranWani incident in 2016 saw a massive breakdown of governance in the history #Kashmir second only to 1989’s unrest.
It marked the revival of #Separatism & #terrorism, which had remarkably waned in the whole of Kashmir, between..
(3/19)
..2011 through 2015. It was for the first time since 1989 that the civilian demonstrators, armed with stones, and the guerrillas equipped with automatic rifles, joined hands to take on the #government and the #police and #ParamilitaryForces
(4/19)
PDP is also known for issuing controversial statements & meddling in dirty politics for momentary #political gains.
In April 2016 a local girl in #Handwara was molested by a resident..
(5/19)
..but Ms Mufti backed the accusation made against #IndianArmy, thus triggering bitter #protests. Later the victim girl released a video clarifying that a local boy molested her.
(6/19)
In Jan 2019 PDP chief kicked up #controversy by visiting families of #terrorists killed in #encounter with security force & accusing #IndianArmy of harassing the families of terrorists. She is well known for using such fragile situations for her #political mileage
(7/19)
On 25 Feb 2019 Ms #Mufti openly issued threat to Centre & had said "I want to tell them, don't play with fire. Don't fiddle with #Article370. If you do so the consequences will be so grave that you'll see such things which you would have not seen since 1947.
(8/19)
On 4 Apr 2019 PDP even raised question on #Balakote Air Strike by Indian Air Force, accusing no damages were inflicted thereby questioning the legitimacy of the #airstrike. In her bid to discredit the Centre she didn’t hesitate to question the integrity of the #ArmedForces
(9/19)
In April 2019 Ms Mufti posted a tweet, openly threatening the entire #nation of dire consequences, responding on a PIL to ban Mufti from #LokSabha#Elections 2019. She further got in an avoidable #Twitter spat with Cricketer #GautamGambhir
(10/19)
On 17 April 2019 Ms Mufti made unsubstantiated claims, accusing #Army of using chemical weapons against #Terrorists, arguing for the dignity of terrorists. She further went on to claim that the people of #Kashmir have begun rethinking over the state’s accession to #India.
(11/19)
In another instance, on 27 Jun 2019 PDP chief Mufti created another uproar after she #tweeted about "individual's right to cheer for whichever team they like" during the #India-#Pakistan#WorldCup contest.
(12/19)
In the series of #AntiNational statements, on 31 July 2019 Mehbooba Mufti openly threatened #Violence Over #Article35A, saying if they touch It, they will burn to ashes..
(13/19)
she said “35A ke saath chhedd chhadd karna baarood ko haath lagaane ke baraabar hoga. Jo haath 35A ke saath chhedd chaadd karne ke liye uthenge wo haath hi nahi wo saara jism jal ke raakh ho jaega”
(14/19)
Under PDP government, #Kashmir saw an astounding 1000% increase in #drugs cases in hospitals between 2016-2019, this grim situation can be attributed to the lack of #political will to counter this menace, which has further alienated the youths of #Kashmir.
(15/19)
A prime example of opportunistic #politics by PDP is when in Feb 2019, Mehbooba Mufti had vocally objected to the arrest of #YasinMalik, even demanded that Yasin Malik be released immediately claiming that he was unwell,..
(16/19)
..to get some mileag out of the popular opinion. For the uninitiated #YasinMalik was the man who abducted Mehbooba's younger sister Rubaiya Sayeed in 1989.
(17/19)
Former husband of Ms Mufti, Javed Iqbal Shahaptly described PDP saying "From seeking to empower people, the PDP ended up with one family centralising power. Every second relation is legislator, contesting candidate or office bearer,"..
(18/19)
..he further added "I found the Muftis' #political practices perverted entirely to suit their personal interests. If Mufti sahib had a political guest, he would expect her (Mehbooba) to be on his side.... I was never comfortable with that"
(19/19)
PS: #Kashmir has seen some of its worst phases under Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP #government, the people have seen through her petty #politics. It's unlikely that she could make any constructive contribution in Kashmir's politics.
Historically #Kashmiri women have enjoyed freedom like none of their counterparts in the other regions of our country. The intrusion of regressive ideologies, targeted at women, in the 90’s, might have pushed them behind but they are rapidly changing the gender norms.
The spirit of women in #Kashmir, supported aptly by various #government initiatives, have grown wings that enable them to soar the skies and break the glass ceiling. #WomenEmpowerment#Kashmir
With the #abrogation, women of #Kashmir now have a stake in their ancestral properties regardless of their choice is spouse. This have liberated women who are not bound, shackled with patriarchal laws.
Education enables us to make effective decisions about ourselves, our surroundings, and our societies.
Suffice to say #Education as an institution is notably significant in a civil society. And more so for #Kashmir.
In #Kashmir, the importance of structured #Education increases manifolds due to the dynamic nature of this region. Lack of education has a severe cascading effect here, eventually leading the gullible young people towards unlawful activities. @kakar_harsha@neeraj_rajput
#Pandemic has restricted movement all over. With every public institution closed including schools and colleges, the Govt of #Jammu and #Kashmir have introduced initiatives to help students continue their studies, even in such uncertain times. @MirYanaSY@Fayak_Wani1@IAmErAijaz
Let us know, what's the motive and who are/were some of the people running handles like Kashmir Intel (@Kashmirosint), which claim themselves to be voice or source of information of #Kashmir.
NIA in Sep 2020 filed a charge sheet against 5 operatives of #IslamicState Khorasan Province, including the #Kashmiri couple who were running Kashmir Intel for allegedly conspiring to utilize the anti #CAA protests to instigate #Muslims against #Indian government & provoke riots
Here is how the couple, Jahanzaib Sami Wani & Hina Bashir planned to exploit gullible Muslim youth
They were conspiring to create unrest during anti #CAA protest by coining seditious slogans & making graffiti at public places, highlighting the same on social & international media

On 09 Apr 2021, Hav Mohammed Saleem Akhoon of 162 TA Bn, who was off duty at around 1645 hrs was shot dead by terrorists at his residence in Bijbehara, #Anantnag….
The martyred Hav Mohd Saleem Akhoon is survived by his wife, 9 yr old daughter & 6 yr old son. Unfortunately, Saleem is not the first soldier who has been attacked like this by terrorists in #Kashmir
02 Aug 2022, Rifleman Shakir Manzoor of 162 Battalion (TA), was abducted by militants while he was returning to celebrate #Eid with his family in #Kashmir’s Shopian. His burnt car was later found in the nearby #Kulgam district.
For nearly two weeks the villages along LoC are witnessing days and nights without the sound of guns and bombs as the DGMOs of the two nations announced reaffirmation of the #India - #Pakistan ceasefire agreement.
It is pertinent to mention that the cease-fire was asked by #Pakistan. Although, the agreement is reported to be a result of week long back-channel discussions, what made Pakistan walk on this road? Here is a quick analysis.
#India’s hardened approach to #Pakistan with cross-border surgical strikes after the #Uri terror attack & upped the ante further with the #BalakotAirStrikes following #Pulwama terror attack has made it clear that no more diplomatic resolves will opt until Pakistan mends its way
