Thread on London's digital economy - Part of the @LDN_CDO task is making sure major @MayorofLondon strategies are aligned when we talk about data, digital economy, technology & innovation. Today we started a discussion on a new economic strategy london.gov.uk/sites/default/…
Our plan starts with strong statement about data: "Data and digital technologies are a key and increasingly vital component of London’s economy, and its public realm."
Because data is the fuel for innovation London and its boroughs need more explicit city data and technology policies to plan a 21st century city for Londoners and businesses.
plans to work with boroughs, NHS trusts & other public service providers to help improve data-sharing and analytics, and work to seed the future application of machine learning and AI.

We see the need for common standards in digital services: "Common standards in infrastructure and digital services, such as #LGDSS are needed for the design, creation and scaling of products created by the tech community"
We are currently scoping a collaborative model to promote agreed standards, develop better digital capabilities and improve procurement between participating boroughs to enable public services to meet London-wide challenges
We also set out ambitious plans for #GovTech and work of Smart London Board, with City Hall working with gvt agencies
