1/ Some additional thoughts about how dreadful and Trumpy the S*n's "journalism" is here - and what it means for Brexit going forward.
2 I know that poor S*n "journalism" is nothing new - Hillsborough is only the most flagrant example. But there's a "state media" tone to this article, reminding me of Fox fluffing Trump.
3 To document the poor journalism here:

There's one unnamed source.

No one is asked to comment, either from the opposition or trade unions, or employment law or policy experts.
4 The central assertion that workers will be free to make earn overtime pay is false, and the journalists could easily have fact checked it with experts or the sources I link to in my blig post.

(The claim about on-call work is confused but has a kernel of truth).
5 As @mrjamesob points out the journalists may well have agreed to waive the working time limits themselves.

As @jdportes points out they seem to have made up a statistic about family savings. This is an identical MO to GOP claims about tax bill savings in the USA.
6 Surely no one could be this bad at their job?

*Boris and David Davis wave*

Rather it seems this is simply the "Big Lie" technique - it worked for Brexit and Trump, so why stop now?
7 I flag this up because I expect it will be part of the technique going forward, to justify reducing labour and environmental standards by claiming black is white.

As I say in the post: "Some journalists aim to speak truth to power; others are content to help it mislead". //
