/ Welcome to the weekend edition in the independent republic of Brexitlandia 🦁=🐭
/ There is a growing sense that nearly all MPs have now undergone the Brexit lobotomy as Brexit continues to impair all critical thinking in the national interest 🤤🤤🤤
/ Remarkably MPs on both sides of the debate think that wealthy donors to the campaigns should be given a retrospective tax break 😡😡😡google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg…
/ To be clear they are arguing that those whose bankrolled campaigns in clear knowledge of the tax law at the time and the tax implications of their donations should now be given an exemption because they don't like the consequences of their own actions 🤔
/ But when it comes to the consequences of a legally non-binding referendum with a slim majority there can be no attempts to undermine the will of the people 🙄
/ Remarkably the speaker of the house who has to be neutral and so can use his brain thinks democracy is continuous and people can change their mind 👏👏👏amp.theguardian.com/politics/2018/…
/ Indeed even the Maybot occasionally reboots her "logic and reason" app and indicates she would vote to stay in the EU which is what she campaigned for in the referendum 🙄telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/…
/ Indeed David Lidington thinks we could rejoin a reformed EU ignoring that we could reform it as a member in the direction we prefer rather than leaving and letting others reform it in a way we think may be ok 🤦‍♂️telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/…
/ If only someone could tell the Cabinet that we had a veto over further treaty change so had full control as oppose to no control 🤐🤐🤐
/ Especially when the impact of Brexit becomes clearer every day. The UK relies on EIB investment which is now smaller solely due to Brexit 👏👏👏amp.ft.com/content/1d08aa…
/ Other things getting smaller include packets of Digestives again due to Brexit 🥇news.sky.com/story/amp/seve…
/ Just you wait til the UK realises how much tea it imports through Rotterdam - a tea shortage will create an irreversible momentum to halt Brexit ☕️
/ Eurostar has given a clue that the current frictionless trade will not become even more frictionless because that is illogical if you are leaving the SM & CU 🦄🦄🦄
/ And despite what the UK wants the EU27 have been consistently clear there can be no cherry picking 🍒bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-po…
/ The integrity of the SM is paramount and this is clear to anyone who read all the statements ever made by the EU27 since the referendum.🙄🙄🙄
/ Just to pick at random one of today's statements by a member of the EU27 🤔
/ The Maybot who as we know has a defective "logic and reason" app thinks nice words alone will get us the deal we want which delivers the exact same benefits of being in the SM & CU
/ The Maybot occasionally makes a compelling case for close co-operation with the EU27 on key areas before remembering that is what the purpose of the EU is 🤦‍♂️politico.eu/article/theres…
/ But no doubt the Maybot will keep asking for a full cake with cherries on top until such time as some malware renders her inoperable 🎂
/ Meanwhile the EU will work out its phase 2 position by March and then the menu of cake options will be made clear to all. There will be full cake (remain), half cake (SM/CU), quarter cake (Norway), slice of cake (Canada/ Norway mix), slither of cake (Canada) & crumbs (WTO) 🍰
