The article is chronological but I’ll take some freedoms in this thread.

4/ When Gavin was about 18 y/o he got a white power tattoo. The former neo-Nazi @cpicciolini helped me identify it. Fists holding a lighting bolt was a symbol used by Skrewdriver, the neo-Nazi white power band.

4b/ Here is a close-up of Gavin’s Skrewdriver tattoo.

The left word in the circle 權 means power. The right word 力 means strength, force.

The two words 權力 together means “authority”.

5/ A fist holding a lightning bolt is esoteric enough to have gone unnoticed until I did a timeline of Gavin’s tattoos in the first part of this trilogy. Below is the article that helped me identify it.

6/ Vice Media was co-founded by a guy with a white power tattoo.

7/ Gavin not only has a Skrewdriver tattoo here he is in 2004 in Japan wearing a Skrewdriver T-shirt. Skrewdriver is a White Power band.

Gavin claims he isn’t racist. He says his tattoo isn’t racist.

8/ Vice began in 1994 as ‘Voice of Montreal’. Gavin and Suroosh co-opted a grant designed to provide work for Haitian-Canadians and used the paper to review hate literature.

9/ Remember that tweet of a 2004 Vice article with subheading “The third world's taste in music sucks dick”? It was published under a pseudonym — the real author was probably Gavin.

Gavin was the editor and would often write under pseudonyms.

12/ The HATE ring shows up in a Vice interview w/ Jared Taylor. Jared wants America to be white in the same way Japan ethnically homogeneous. You would think Gavin avoided him after that. Nope.

16/ At Takimag, Gavin spewed an enormous amount of racist garbage. His views are spelled out in B&W in his “10 Things I Like About...” articles.

Basically, ‘white guys’ invent things and ‘black people’ keep domestic violence a secret.

17/ Gavin has always written for white men. Gavin loves angry white men.

19/ Lots can be said about the ‘Proud Boys’ but here is Jason Kessler, the Unite the Right rally organizer on his show.

During one appearance, Kessler was promoting his upcoming rally.

20/ Gavin made a point to tell everyone he disavowed the rally. He didn’t. Gavin accidentally disavowed it for ~8 hrs then retracted it. Proud Boy Magazine reverted to the old disavowal only after someone was killed.

Gavin loves lying to the press.

21/ One member inside the PB Facebook group sent me screenshots of my doxxing. They thought it was wrong to doxx a pregnant family member.

Most PBs (10-40) sent creepy messages and others tweeted out phone numbers. One family member had to change their phone number.

22/ I’ve learned there are two types of Proud Boy. Some think they are holding the fort to further extremism. Others, like Richard Spencer, see the group as a recruiting tool for white nationalism.

23/ What motivates him? I think it’s simple: Gavin is unhappy and wants attention. He has confided in others about his unhappiness and the drudgery of his situation. Gavin is unapologetic its part of his brand and is trapped by the things he’s said and done.

24/ Gavin’s shows lack substance and have gotten very repetitive. He won’t engage in a debate he thinks he can lose.

Guests are either like-minded or naiive targets.
