2) This communication was part of the Gates Manafort lobbying firm being hired by the at the time ruling Ukrainian political party to undercut support for Yulia Tymoshenko, a previous Prime Minister of Ukraine who was pro-EU and NATO membership. cnbc.com/2016/08/18/tru…

4) Apparently van der Twit screwed the pooch by lying to the FBI and the Special Counsel about a phone call with Rick Gates which he recorded and deleted an email with Rick Gates in September of 2016. Curious if its 302's that were used for this indictment.
5) Curiously, this also comes days after Gates was supposed to be reaching a plea deal with the Special Counsel with regards to his work with Manafort lobbying for the Ukrainian government.
6) Another note: the call and email that were lied about came after Manafort was ejected from the campaign in August and Rick Gates was as a result marginalized and tossed to a minor satellite role in the campaign.
7) Again, per the indictment, this has fuck all to do with the Trump campaign. He lied "in the course of answering questions concerning his work as an attorney... engaged in 2012 by the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice to prepare a report on the trial of Yulia Tymoshenko."
8) Manafort and Gates are obviously dirty as hell, ESPECIALLY since their work with the Ukrainian government seems to have been smearing a former prime minister in politically motivated trials and undermining support for her in the United States.
9) Buuuuuut what the fuck does this have to do with foreign interference in the US election? I mean, this is eventually going to lead to the Podestas, as the lobbying company The Podesta Group was allegedly involved in the same work with the Ukrainian government.
