My friend @Marie4Congress is running in #IL03 against a Democratic incumbent named Dan Lipinski. He’s anti-choice, anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ – and Marie’s primary is in exactly one week.

Today we remember the 20 children and 6 educators who were killed by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary six years ago. My heart is with every family who has spent the last six years grappling with the heartbreak of losing a loved one. And all the while, Congress has failed to act.
We’ve seen the nightmare of gun violence repeat itself in schools, movie theaters, churches, nightclubs, concerts – and every single day in cities across our country. Despite these tragedies, we’re still seeing the same thing from Congress: complete inaction. Enough is enough.
On this painful anniversary, I encourage you to fight for reform. Call your members of Congress at 202-224-3121 to demand they take action to prevent future tragedies from claiming more lives. Speak out against the NRA, and say shame on any lawmaker who won’t stand up to it.

.@HeidiHeitkamp’s opponent, Kevin Cramer, just supported Judge Kavanaugh by saying it's unreasonable to require "a perfect record." To be clear, the "perfect record" we’re asking for from a Supreme Court justice is that they've never assaulted a woman.
We can’t let someone like Kevin Cramer, who casually dismisses sexual assault, into the Senate. And we can’t lose Heidi’s voice and vote as a woman. But their race in North Dakota will decide Senate control in November, and right now it’s the closest Senate race in the country.

...but, as a young person (in my 20s), I identified as a Green (this was pre-Jill Stein awfulness). and most of my generational cohorts identified that or as anarchists...
...very few of us identified as socialists or communists, despite overlapping philosophies/goals. And it wasn't because we despised those ideologies per se...
