Trump on Democrats: “They want people to come in from the border, and they want, I guess, I can’t imagine they want, but certainly drugs are flowing across borders.”
Trump on trade with allies: "Frankly our friends did more damage to us than our enemies. Because we didn't deal with our enemies, we dealt with our friends, and we dealt incompetently."
Trump falsely claims that Hillary Clinton said the South Korea trade deal would produce 200,000 jobs. Obama said it would "support 70,000 jobs."
Trump says he might "hold up" the South Korea trade "till after a deal is made with North Korea. Does everybody understand that? You know why? Because it's a very strong card. And I want to make sure everyone is treated fairly." ???
"Ahh, they're fake," Trump says of the media, wrongly saying nobody would have believed so many jobs would have been created under him. More jobs were created over the equivalent previous period under Obama.
Trump calls the original South Korea trade deal a "Hillary Clinton special." It was negotiated by the Bush administration, then revised by the Obama administration when Democrats in Congress wouldn't approve the original.
Trump makes a case that the strong economy will be jeopardized if Republicans lose in the midterms. "We cannot let anything happen to stop what we're doing and where we're going and all of the workers and all of the jobs."
Trump promises to turn America's roads from a source of frustration to a source of "absolutely incredible pride."
Trump falsely claims, "We got rid of the bump stocks. The bump stocks now are under very strict control." His administration's proposed regulation is still in the mandatory comment period, hasn't been finalized. Then he falsely claims, "Nobody reported it."
"I love the smell of a construction site," Trump says.
Trump mentions Clinton again in talking about how he approved Keystone XL: "Hillary wasn't gonna approve it. It was a dead project. I got in, almost, like, right at the beginning, I approved that."
Trump falsely says there was "nobody" protesting his decision to approve the Dakota Access Pipeline. Protesters were formally ordered to leave the site.
Trump says one country is currently building "29 bridges," but he won't say its name because "they're very friendly to me," though they weren't friendly to the US before him.
Trump mocks consultants he claims are taking credit for long-stalled projects being approved under Trump: "They didn't do a damn thing. Except Trump got elected, that's about all. That's about all."
Trump on Keystone XL firm TransCanada Corp: "Can you imagine the boss of whatever the hell company it is, who never actually called me to say thank you, but that's okay. We'll remember. So this guy's sitting behind his beautiful chair in a certain place, I know exactly where..."
"They're probably Democrats. Not for long, however," Trump says of the imaginary consultants he claims are demanding millions in fees for getting Keystone approved.
Trump complains that the US spends money defending South Korea: "Look at Korea. We have a border at Korea. We have a wall of soldiers. We don't get paid very much for this, do we?...But our own border, we don't take care of it."
This is really amazing: the president threateningly saying he'll "remember" the company whose CEO (allegedly) did not personally call him to thank him for approving the project he'd campaigned on a promise to approve.
"I was against it from the beginning," Trump falsely says of the Iraq War.
Trump on Syria: "We'll be coming out of Syria, like, very soon. Let the other people take care of it now. Very soon. Very soon. Very soon we're coming out."
Trump falsely claims that the US has spent $7 trillion on Middle East wars. He has made up that figure. He adds: "Seven trillion with a T! Nobody ever heard of the word 'trillion' until 10 years ago!"
Trump on the Middle East: "We build a school. They blow it up. We build a school they blow it up." This is quite a speech. "You know what we have for it? Nothing...I used to say, keep the oil!"
Trump: "If we kept the oil, we would've been okay? If we kept the oil, we wouldn't have ISIS!...they kept the oil, we didn't keep the oil! Stupid! Stupid!"

The president is advocating war crimes again.
Trump on judicial vacancies: "We were left JUDGES! They're the ones that JUDGE on your disputes! They JUDGE on what's fair on the environment and what's not fair!"
Trump mockingly thanks Obama for leaving him judicial vacancies, saying, "What happened? How did he do that?" What happened was Republicans refused to approve Obama's judicial nominees.
Trump on the global agreement to help developing countries transition to cleaner energy: "As far as I'm concerned, we're developing. Pay us some money. Pay us. We're developing."
The president says abusive employees at the VA treated people "horribly. Horribly. Worse than a movie."
This was the most predictably ridiculous speech
Trump is trying to simultaneously preside over extensive, increased military involvement in the Middle East and campaign against such involvement.
Trump: "When I was growing up we had what was called VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS. They weren't called community colleges. Because I don't know what that means, a community college...I don't know what it means...I tell people, call it 'vocational' from now on."

Those are different things.
The president says he doesn't know what "community college" means.
Trump gives a rare shout-out to his daughter Tiffany, who is apparently present.
The president is complaining about a particular highway again. He doesn't name it, but it's either the one he hates in Maryland or the one he hates in New Jersey. He says it's not good and straight anymore, so it's "not good if you're not feeling so good behind the wheel."
Trump: "America built the Empire State Building in ONE YEAR. It's actually like nine months, can you believe that?"

He always says this.

It was 13 months.
This is a classic kind of Trump false claim. It wasn't his building. There is no benefit to him saying "actually it was less than one year." But he's done that three times as president, because he is who he is.
Trump finally returns to his prepared text, touting various investments - "an additional $2 billion to improve veterans' medical facilities," etc.
Trump says some of US infrastructure is "like a Third World country." As he did on the campaign trail, he waxes nostalgic about the glory days of US building.
Trump takes credit for the SpaceX rocket launch and landing, saying such things didn't happen until he was president. Then he says, "Why the hell should we do it?...They want to send rocket ships up, they're rich, let them do it." Then, incongruously, he talks up NASA.
"Our country had very little pride," the president says about the country before he was president.
Trump on how he is improving the country: "Even look at Roseanne! I called her yesterday! Look at her ratings! Look at her ratings!"
Trump Roseanne: "Over 18M people! And it was about US! They haven't figured it out! The fake news hasn't quite figured it out yet! They have not figured it out! So that was great. And they haven't figured it out. But they will. And when they do, they'll become much less fake."
The big conclusion of the president's "infrastructure" speech was supposed to be about American hands and American pride rebuilding America. Instead, he made it about the ratings of a sitcom.
Here's the Trump quote about how things like "cars" and SpaceX were "dormant," but now under him they're "back," and NASA is back, but why should the government fund rocket launches, rich people should do it.
This kind of statement from any other president would be a major headline out of today's speech. With Trump, it's almost certainly meaningless. He seemed to make it up on the spot.
"I was always very good at building." Here's how Trump bragged today about a border wall replacement project first proposed in 2009 that the Border Patrol says is entirely separate from Trump's proposed wall:
Here's Trump's full complaint about how the U.S. spends money on tight security at South Korea's border with North Korea.
Trump ominously said "we'll remember" that the CEO of TransCanada never called him to say thank you for approving Keystone XL. In fact, @Alex_Panetta points out, Russ Girling said thank you to him twice - in person in the Oval Office, while cameras rolled.
Trump again projected his own ignorance onto the broader public, saying "people," not just him, "don’t know what a community college means.”
This will surely stand as history's most amazing conclusion to a presidential address on infrastructure.
