The first thing we should be taught in a Local Church is soul winning. Ruth came to a field of soul winners. When last did we share the gospel of the preparation of peace? When last did we tell someone about Jesus?

Boaz was a picture of the Lord. He spoke to the reapers first. The voice of the Lord will often come first to those going about soul winning. This is the second thing we ought to do in a local Church - teaching others to hear the voice of God

The word 'Disciple' is way stricter than its more contemporary alternative 'mentees.' This is the Third thing we learn under the cover of a local church - learning authority and discipline.

A river without boundaries is a flood, it is destructive to everything in its path. A river with a course is always a blessing. It will be productive. We must learn boundaries, we must learn to operate under authority.

Only when we have learned authority can we be fruitful outside of the church setting.

Ruth's encounter happened on the threshing floor. It is a place of dying to self and selfish ambitions. It is the place of circumcision of the flesh, the place of purging.

The Church that will fully accomplish the purpose of God in the earth will be one dead to itself. It will be a church dead to the desires to be seen, to be heard and to be known.

We often hear the saying "It is our time to shine." But we are not called to shine. We are called to do the will of God.

When Ruth gathered, all she got was a measure of barley. When she surrendered to Boaz, she got six more measures. When we come to the Lord, we get so much more than we can do in our effort.

Ruth's purpose was not just to marry Boaz. She was destined to carry the seed of Christ. She couldn't have done that without being washed in the blood, baptised in water and baptised in the spirit.

We must not let offence, strife, and rejection to sever us from the purpose of God. Ruth overcame the rejection that befell the Moabites to live the will of God for her life.

If we want to birth the purpose of God for our time and generation, we would have to overcome the spirit of offence.

Offence and rejection are two things we must overcome. As we walk with the Lord, we would meet these as hurdles, we must overcome them to press into the fullness of God's plan.

Offences will come. Rejection will come. Don't let them hold you down.

Boaz asked Ruth. Who are you? There comes a time we are confronted with this question in our faith walk. Are we answer with where He called us out form or answer to where He would have us be?

Study of the scriptures shows that Naomi was supposed to marry Boaz. This speaks of a generation that feels too old for revival. May we not be a generation that is too old or weak for revival

We need a fresh hunger for God. We need a desire to position ourselves for revival. Do not be a Naomi without hunger. Be a Ruth desperate for union with God, birthing His will and carrying His seed.
